The Crossing Presents Fashion for a Cure
Fashion for a Cure, presented by The Crossing, is now officially on the New Zealand Fashion Week schedule as part of the Christchurch Spring Fashion Festival. On Friday 16 October, 24 of Aotearoa’s leading designers will unveil their Spring/Summer collections, and several of our own retailers will be among them.

The Crossing Capsule returns this year with a curated selection from RUBY, Juliette Hogan, I Love Ugly, Barkers, Rodd & Gunn and Sylvester. Alongside the Capsule, the full runway line-up features Augustine, Caitlin Crisp, COOP, Cooper, Curate, Federation, Hailwood, Kathryn Wilson, Knuefermann, NOM*d, Repertoire, Stella + Gemma, Storm, Taylor, Trelise Cooper, TUESDAY LABEL, Untouched World and Zambesi.
Why we’re involved
The Crossing is Breast Cancer Cure’s Christchurch Brand Partner through 2027. The partnership began with a simple question: how can we do more? It brings our community’s love of fashion together with support for research that could change everything.
The numbers are sobering. One in nine New Zealand women will face breast cancer in their lifetime, and around 3,600 New Zealanders are diagnosed each year. Breast Cancer Cure is the country’s only charitable trust established exclusively to find a cure. It has funded research for more than 28 years, and its Fashion for a Cure events have raised over $4.3 million.
Last year’s event at Christchurch Art Gallery brought 17 designers to the runway, sold out months in advance and raised more than $113,000 for breast cancer research.
The evening
Guests are welcomed with French champagne, followed by a three-course dinner with wine pairings and curated non-alcoholic drinks. Breast Cancer Cure Ambassador Wilhelmina O’Keeffe hosts, with auctioneer Richard Stringer leading live and silent auctions featuring luxury escapes and sought-after experiences. A Breast Cancer Cure-funded researcher will share an update on the latest breakthroughs, and each guest goes home with a Fashion for a Cure goodie bag.
The RUBY VIP Experience
VIP guests receive everything included in General Admission, plus early access, VIP canapés on arrival, a choice of main course, and premium front-row seating with priority table placement. The evening begins with an exclusive In Conversation with Emily Miller-Sharma, RUBY General Manager and the designer behind Liam. She’ll discuss the evolution of RUBY and Liam, building community through fashion, championing sustainability, and elevating representation and inclusivity across the industry. VIP tickets are limited.
