Fashion for a Cure 2025

Earlier this month, the Christchurch Art Gallery transformed into something extraordinary. Fashion for a Cure brought together 17 of New Zealand’s top designers, hundreds of beautifully dressed guests, and a shared commitment to change – raising over $113,000 for breast cancer research.

The event sold out months in advance, and walking into that foyer on the night, you could feel the energy. This wasn’t just another fashion show. It was proof of what happens when a community decides that current statistics aren’t good enough, and chooses to do something about it.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible people who made it happen.

Thank You, Christchurch

To the Breast Cancer Cure team – Sonja, Venetia Wilson, Jess, Sarah, and Amber – thank you for your meticulous planning and passion.

Our own Ashling Mullins went above and beyond, and we couldn’t be prouder to have been part of this event as the presenting partner.

The designers who shared their latest collections deserve enormous credit: Amaya, Augustine, Caitlin Crisp, COOP, Cooper, Curate, Federation, Hailwood, Juliette Hogan, Kathryn Wilson, Repertoire, Rodd & Gunn, Ruby, Stella & Gemma, Storm, Trelise Cooper, and Tuesday. Thank you to Juliette Hogan for being part of the VIP experience and sharing your stories, and to both Juliette and Caitlin Crisp for dressing our hosts.

Antonia Prebble and Lou Heller were delightful hosts and proud Breast Cancer Cure Ambassadors, with Lou sharing styling tips that reminded everyone how to make the most of what they already own. Professor Logan Walker from the University of Otago brought the research to life, sharing the important projects that Breast Cancer Cure funds.

Jackie and the team at Christchurch Art Gallery provided an elegant venue and wonderful support. Felicity Collier and her Joico hair team, alongside Yelana Bebich from Aleph Beauty and her makeup team from Ara, made sure everyone looked incredible.

Thank you to our beverage sponsors – Selaks, MDC, Antipodes, and Constellation Brands – who kept everyone refreshed throughout the evening. The Catering Department delivered a delicious three-course dinner and fabulous service.

Our photographers and content creators captured every moment: Lisa Sun, Kelsey from Mi Content, and Angelica from Sonder Media. Melaine from Tholsie & Co donated beautiful flowers for every table.

The volunteers – both front and back of house – were essential to the evening’s success. Students from St Margaret’s College and a dedicated group who’ve been volunteering for 10 years: Helen, Lisa, Bridget, Sarah, Nikki, Debra, Lana, Jo, Tracy, Eneka, and Kylie. Your continued commitment is inspiring.

George and the team from Quest Christchurch welcomed and accommodated the BCC team. Ivana and the team from Vast Billboards donated incredible digital space around the city.

The live and silent auctions wouldn’t have been possible without generous donations from CACI, Curtain Studio, Hulbert House, Caitlin Crisp, White Tie Catering, Hayley & Co., Susan Forde, Juliette Hogan at The Crossing, Emma Bass, Inflite, Untouched World, Lou Heller, MAPU, Captain Cook Cruises, and InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa. Special thanks to Untouched World and Craigs Investments for the surprise moments throughout the evening.

Nick and the team from Eclipse Events brought everything together with professionalism and talent. Our models from Portfolio, Unique, Fierce, and Chelsea Pannett brought the collections to life on the runway. Backstage managers Zoey Tomlison and Mima Kitchen kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Over $113,000 raised means real research, real progress, and real hope for the 3,600 New Zealanders diagnosed with breast cancer each year. That’s what this partnership with Breast Cancer Cure is all about – not just awareness, but action.

Thank you, Christchurch, for showing up, for caring, and for proving that fashion and purpose make a powerful combination.
