Where Fashion Meets Purpose
Our Journey with Breast Cancer Cure
Sometimes the most meaningful partnerships begin with a simple question: how can we do more?
At The Crossing, that question led us to Breast Cancer Cure, and we’re honoured to be their Christchurch Brand Partner through 2027. It’s a collaboration that feels both natural and necessary – bringing together our community’s love for fashion with support for research that could change everything.
The statistics are confronting: one in nine New Zealand women will face breast cancer in their lifetime, with one woman diagnosed every three hours. We lose two women every day to this disease. But here’s what gives us hope – Breast Cancer Cure has been funding world-class research for over 28 years, and their Fashion for a Cure events alone have raised more than $4.3 million for breakthrough discoveries.

Fashion for a Cure
This October, we’re presenting Fashion for a Cure at the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū – and honestly, we couldn’t be more excited. Picture seventeen of New Zealand’s top designers showcasing their latest collections: AMAYA, Augustine, Coop, Caitlin Crisp, Cooper, Curate, Federation, Hailwood, Juliette Hogan, Kathryn Wilson, Repertoire, Rodd & Gunn, Ruby, Stella + Gemma, Storm, Trelise Cooper, and Tuesday.
The evening will be guided by Antonia Prebble and Lou Heller, both proud Breast Cancer Cure Ambassadors. Lou will share her expert styling tips – the kind that help you feel confident and celebrate your individuality with pieces you already own. Between the runway moments, we’ll hear from a funded breast cancer researcher about the latest advancements their work is making possible.
It’s sold out, which speaks volumes about our community’s commitment to this cause.

Tees for a Cure
But Fashion for a Cure is just the beginning. Throughout our partnership, we’ll also host the annual Tees for a Cure pop-up store, creating more opportunities for everyone to contribute to this vital research. Because supporting life-changing work shouldn’t require a special invitation – it should be part of how we show up for each other.
What strikes us most about Breast Cancer Cure is their unwavering focus. As New Zealand’s only charitable trust established exclusively to find a cure for breast cancer, they’re not diluting their efforts across multiple causes. Every dollar raised, every research project funded, every breakthrough achieved – it all points toward one goal: making breast cancer survivable for every New Zealander.
Fashion has always been about more than what we wear. It’s about how we present ourselves to the world, how we express our values, how we connect with others. When you choose to support Fashion for a Cure, or pick up something from our Tees for a Cure pop-up, you’re saying that style and substance can coexist beautifully.
This partnership represents something we believe in deeply: that businesses have a responsibility to their communities that goes beyond transactions. Yes, we want you to discover amazing brands and enjoy your time with us. But we also want every visit to contribute to something larger – research that could mean a mother gets to see her daughter graduate, a sister gets to dance at her brother’s wedding, a friend gets to grow old alongside you.
Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate – it affects people across all ages, genders, and ethnicities. But neither does hope. And neither does a community determined to fund the research that will change these statistics forever.
That’s the story we’re proud to be part of, and we hope you’ll join us in writing the next chapter.
