Sylvester Coming Soon

Sylvester is preparing for a new chapter at The Crossing, with the New Zealand label set to open a fresh space in Kettlewell Lane in early February 2026. The move brings the growing brand — shaped by the legacy of Kate Sylvester — into the heart of Christchurch’s fashion precinct.

The shift into Kettlewell Lane marks an important step for the young label as it continues to build on the 31‑year legacy of Kate Sylvester. While Sylvester is carving out its own identity, the brand carries forward the design values and creative spirit that shaped its predecessor, bringing a modern perspective to New Zealand fashion.

The move from Cashel Street will give Sylvester a purpose‑built space designed to reflect its clean lines, thoughtful details, and concept‑driven collections. The new store will offer room for the brand’s evolving vision, creating an environment that feels calm, intentional, and distinctly Sylvester.

With four stores across Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch — and a strong online presence — Sylvester continues to expand its reach. The new Kettlewell Lane location strengthens the brand’s connection to Ōtautahi, where a loyal community has supported its journey from the beginning.

At The Crossing, Sylvester will sit alongside other New Zealand designers only South-Island stores, including Juliette Hogan, Ruby, Jamie Kay and I Love Ugly. Together, these brands help shape The Crossing as a destination for contemporary local fashion — a place where design, craft, and creativity come together in the centre of the city.

The opening will also introduce Home, Sylvester’s next collection. Drawing on familiar spaces and childhood memories, Home blends nostalgia with elevated simplicity. The collection continues Sylvester’s focus on versatile, intelligent pieces designed for a wide range of bodies and styles, offering clothing that feels both grounded and expressive.

Sylvester’s Cashel Street store will have its final day of trade on Saturday, 17 January, ahead of the move.
