Born to Play Is Back at The Crossing This July
Born to Play is returning to The Crossing. For two weeks this July, two sessions run each weekday morning on our ground floor; a rare chance to experience the playgroup in the centre of the city.
The Christchurch playgroup operates without a programme. There are no set activities, no adult-directed tasks. The space is prepared, then the children are free to explore it. They decide what to investigate, how long to stay with something, and when to move on. Caregivers stay close but follow rather than lead.
For families who’ve done the rounds of structured activities, it tends to land differently.
What’s On
The pop-up draws from Born to Play’s most popular sessions; sensory play, open-ended toys, a mini café, a construction site, and active play options, all available within each one-hour session. Sessions are mixed-age, from crawling babies through to preschoolers.
One caregiver attends free with each child ticket. Held or sleeping babies are welcome at no charge when accompanying a paying sibling.
